⎞⎛ green grow the rushes o

everything on the earth bristled:
the bramble pricked
and the green thread nibbled away:
the petal fell
 falling
until the only flower was the falling itself:
water is another matter
has no direction but its own bright grace
runs through all imaginable colours
takes limpid lessons from stone
and in those functionings plays out
the unrealized ambitions of the foam:

☼ take me to another world

as our teens had finished their gcse's
my best friend and I took them to Spain
for a week of relaxation and sunshine:
tearing them away from the pool
we drove to a hilltop walled town:
rambling rooftop views:
between the walls:
stone and blue skies:
tiny streets where Jews once lived:
decorated pavements:
delicious shades of ochre:

on the Pier trains
two photos in each carriage:
from 1st ~ 16th July:
the river captured
in the fragment of a second:

♭♯♮ pizzicato pass

this little box is quite old:
it cost 15p when I bought it
over 25 years ago:

an amber groove:
once used to resin this bow:
that danced across these strings:
but they haven't done that
for far too long:
now Jill's chin is resting here:
she hugged the case when I
gave it to her:

they'll be making new music
together:

⧠⧠ flavour of the month

when I smell this gorgeously
scented flower
I have the voice of Homer Simpson
in my head
saying
'mmmm choc-o-late'

we got to this {our first} little beauty
before the slugs, snails and blackbirds:
small but sweetly formed:

〚〛in the library

at my last visit to Leigh Library
I found some unusual books among
the spines and shelves:
sewn book art by Sally Chinea:
love her handmade business cards:
magpie by Madelaine Murphy:
created from the pages of
'A Roguish Gentleman' by Mary Brendan:
suture {2011} by Karen Apps:
twist {2011} by Karen Apps:
text from Wordsworth English Fairy Tales
The Three Bears:

artbookart will have a 'market' stall as part of
Artside 6th July at Elmer Approach:
go see them and 'altercate' a book:
and don't miss Trotter Sisters, eat
size zero & win piggies!
they're hilarious ^_^
