☼ come together

while in France I was fortunate to finally meet my
friend Suzie:
she insisted we stay at her house:
the only payment accepted being
teabags and marmite:
Suzie and I had not actually met in real life:
our mutual love of film cameras, Radiohead,
Andrew Graham Dixon & a huge list of appreciations,
brought us together over the world wide web:

she took us to her favourite places and spaces:
we snapped, thrifted, talked, picnic'd, laughed, chatted:
young girls talked fashion, giggled and painted nails:
big girls drank rose and swang on the swingy seat:
thank you for sharing your days with us:
can't wait for you to do the same over here:
and indeed, god bless the internet!

✭ market day

one day we went to market at
Esperaza:

beautiful houses on the River Aude:
the streets below filled with stalls:
crepes et Nutella for Libbie:
café for me:
it felt strange being in busy streets:
spice aromas:
bright colours:
pianola music accompanying bustling people
as they browsed, and shopped
and filled their baskets:
wish we had the same here:

☮ the best meal of the day

morning rituals brought together in the kitchen:
every family preparing their breakfasts:
like a silent ballet,
each person moving around the other:
fresh bread everyday
loving baked by Joseph:
in his grandfathers tins
a sour dough mix of flours and grains:
family bakers from the 16th to the 21st century:
turn the wheel to slice:
homemade jam, quark, goats cheese:
topping yoghurt with muesli and peach:
the smell of coffee, fresh fruit, rose tea:
cluttering cutlery:
greetings of good morning:
I ❤ a communal kitchen:

☯ open to the new

for ten days
for the first time in my life
I slept under canvas:
tree shadows from the sun
and the moon:
nestled in a forest by the Pyrenees:
cicadas sing and birds call:
fireflies light meandering pathways:
owls hoot by night:
after breakfast
the sound of a conch horn
calls us up the hill
for yoga:
our pilgrimage:
as I breathe in the forest air
I gaze up at the blue sky:
these views from my red yoga mat:
when I journeyed up the winding road
from En Durou
to Viveka:

to be continued ....

¿? natures mystery

what seeds are these?
I love their fan shape and white tips:
they were under my feet as I walked past the church:
can't help wondering what they would grow into:

▪□▫ talent

an old and very dear friend has consistently
produced beautiful works:
modestly making
commissions & projects:
at last he has some new works:
Paul Siggins is an amazing mosaic artist:
slate, gold and white:
cracked lines:
gold glints:
symmetry:
pink, brown, pale:
triangular and marble-like:
channels of smooth turquoise
with ridges of stone:
like an ancient map of Inca temples:
the play of light and shadow:
texture and simplicity:

⌘ returns

my friend Ali didn't need this and 'gave'
it to me to use:
we lost touch:
years went by:
over 15 of them:
then we found each other again:
recently:
and I returned her green fan:
and she gave me these:
from her late Aunt:
love the curly font:
I love it when someone switches the
'pause'
button off and we continue to 'play':
